Wow, 3.5k miles/year? Sounds almost too good to be true, but assuming it was garaged, granny-driven, and serviced, I’d gamble on it in a heartbeat. Non-turbo VW V-engines are generally pretty bulletproof. I don’t know the 3.0 as well as the older 2.8, but apart from some oil leaks and the occasional O2 sensor, not much goes wrong.

15k-25k miles of bliss followed by the long dick of the Audi Service Department.

I don’t plan on driving anything for that long.

Or go to an independant shop and watch them do the “we are ordering a new hoist” dance when you push your car in (true story, I pushed my old audi to the shop down the street and they seemed oddly happy for me to be there...)

If that is the Audi, what should I expect from the Range Rover?

It’s got 35k miles. That is basically a new car. I’d worry about rubber hoses, all fluids, and anything else that has a time-interval in addition to mileage for changing. But otherwise I can't imagine much going wrong.

My worries are with the electrical bits. I found two 35-40K mile 3.0 A6’s, one is black with black/walnut interior and the other is silver with a gray/silver interior. I’m now interested.

How about the electrical bits? It is a 10 year old car

Engine should actually be reasonably reliable by Audi standards. Still has plenty of life left in it.

That’s actually encouraging. Which color combo is best?

Personally I like the black on black. You will look important and official.

The 3.0 V6 is probably one of the absolute worst engines Audi ever made.

Please elaborate, that goes against what most people said.

I mean the whole advantage of electrical components is that they are never really supposed to go bad or need replacing. Sure sensors and such can break, but that is generally solely from use. Unless of course corrosion is a factor, but 10 years old is still pretty new anyways.
