It’s been two months and 1,000 miles since I bought my 2000 Audi A6 2.7t with 107,000 miles.
What have I had to do?
1. That thing. See that red circle right there? That’s my ABS module that kindly decided to go out on me. It takes about an hour to remove yourself, which involves taking the driver side wheel off and accidentally emptying the contents of the washer reservoir onto your driveway. I sent it off to Module Master, in the middle of nowhere Idaho and a couple weeks later and I have ABS again. That’s a whopping $ 150 . It’s a 14 year old twin turbo Audi with over 100,000 miles on it. It’s no Camry.
2. Coolant needed topping off. $30 or something at the Volkswagen dealer.
That’s all.
What do I need to do?
New wheels, tires, 02 sensors ($685) and an AC pressure switch ($275). Both things that need to be changed on pretty much any car. Thanks to BugEyedBeetle for those quotes!

Happy to help!

Next time I have the time to send the car out, I’ll contact you again!
I actually really appreciate the quotes, the first five Audi repair shops I contacted either didn’t respond or responded with something like “get back you soon.”

I’ve used Module Master for client’s cars, they’re great. Pretty simple repair on those, the conduit between the connector and board melts the solder out.

Really decent company. I originally ordered the wrong rebuild service ($300 vs $150) and they refunded me the difference. They also packed it really well and got it done fast.

Well, most shops don’t want to deal with 2.7Ts. That’s one of our specialties lol

Haha, true true.

$685 for wheels, tires AND O2 sensors? I feel like that isn’t bad at all!

Not including wheels and tires, haha. Didn’t word that real good.

Oh just you wait. It hasn’t got a hold of your wallet yet (Timing Belt!), but it will...(Turbos!)

Keep up with the timing belt, also watch that coolant. A small pipe from the oil cooler likes to leak as the car gets older. That’s the only things I know of, because the 2.7 dosent share many problems with the 4.2 (I have a 2000 4.2 that I’m about to part out)

Is that what I see in your kinja pic? Looks great!
Also, I see Rs6 wheels. Which I want for my A6. If you’re parting, I'm interested.

If I even have the car at 120,000 miles I’ll change it. If the turbos go, fuck it I’m buying a 996.
(My average length of car ownership is one year.)

Oh wow. At least you are practicing weight reduction on your wallet!

Yes it is, the wheels are hartman replicas though (18 inch).
