The forecast has cold temps, below 40, for the next couple of weeks but not much snow. I’m never really sure when the proper time to put on snow tires is. Yeah, it’s a big guessing game and last year I did it that morning of our first big storm but it’s probably better for the cold anyway. What about all of you? Have you put yours on? Do you put them on well ahead of time or right in the thick of it.

My dream car in snow for you time.

Everything I've ever read says when temps average 40 degrees or less. Snow or no snow. And above 40 degrees increases wear on winter rubber.

I’ll probably be throwing mine on about half way through the month. I check the weather for a nice day that’s not too cold, but looks like the last “warmer day” of the year.

I’d say wait until the forecast says snow in a week.

I’m putting mine on in about two weeks or so. We still have consistent mid-high 50s here until then, usually. I have all-seasons on right now (boo) so if I get caught out it won’t be the end of the world, though.

It was nearly 70 today (NJ) ! So not yet. I’m on all seasons still anyways (will be getting summers in the spring) so I’ll probably wait until some time in December. More likely the first time I head up to Vermont for skiing, I’ll put on my snows.

Mid-November is perfect for most of us. Unless you have summer-only tires that get really hard and slippery, those say not to use under something like 40 degrees and they mean it. I have some. I should switch to my snows, but it keeps not getting too cold...

I'll probably end up waiting a couple of weeks. Mid November sounds perfect.

I have all seasons on right now. Roughly two weeks seems to be what the general consensus is

I probably have a few more weeks, the all seasons aren't too bad. At least I have a garage I can pull in to to swap them out and four jack stands this year!

I might wait a for more weeks and get in to the beginnings of winter a bit more. The weather has been rather sporadic

It is just the start of some snow and with the way our weather has been going I may as well hold off, might get some more 70 degree days

It's snowing now! But it will probably all melt. I'm actually hoping it melts since there isn't snow in the forecast and a bottom layer that's been through heat/freeze cycles es no bueno.

Knowing our weather I would say that’s likely

What about all of you?

Usually closer to thanksgiving. Still a number of 50/60 days left. Just before risk of snow.
