Im tuning my LEGO LTEC (parody of VTEC) engine to sound like a DOHC 4 cyl engine and I can’t decide which setup I want to use in my video.
Sound 1 has rods that the piston hits to make exhaust popping noise IMO
Sound 2 has the rods removed and it’s the piston sound reverberating inside the cylinder head.
Update: I’m convinced Sound 2 is better.
If I added valves, the engine would rotate too slow and LTEC would not kick in :P My LEGO engines are models powered by a speed controled LEGO motor, not an actual running engine.

I like sound 2 better. Sound 1 makes it sound like it has top end issues imo.

I like #2 marginally better, but I have no idea if it is more authentic for what you area trying to do.

Both? lol, #1 sounds like my V50’s B5244S4 at cold start up and #2 sounds like it does after a few minutes of idling...

2 sounds way better and not broken.

The more I listen to it, #1 seems to have bad lifters

Just short a cylinder apparently ;)

I agree with others, number 1 sounds like it has top end issues. Although, I’m sure it’ll be hard to replicate an actual engine sound as there is no combustion, exhaust tone, injectors, etc etc etc

The first one sounds like an old tractor engine to me. The 2nd one sounds like a newer tractor engine to me.

That or direct injection!
