I need advice from those of you who have made major purchases during the holiday season.
As I’ve !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I’m planning to purchase an Xbox One sometime in the next month and I’m wondering what your experiences have been regarding when the best time to pull the trigger is between now and Black Friday/Cyber Monday.
I just read today that !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! November 6-7 that will give you a free game $59.99 and under and a $50 gift card with the purchase of an XB1 bundle.
Should I pull the trigger on this or will I likely get a better deal if I wait a few more weeks?

There is a dude in Florida (duh) that has been at a Best Buy for like a week or 2 waiting on Black Friday. Madness!
As for the promo, a free game is a free game. Add a $50 card and that sounds like a good deal. Do consoles usually have a Black Friday special in the past?

That is a good deal, but for something like that... You’re not going to have Thanksgiving dinner this year. I’d be willing to bet you’ll be SOL if you show up any later than 8:00 PM. Then you’ll have to wait an hour in line to check out, assuming you’re even able to get the Xbox at all - some stores have stupidly limited promotions, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they only stock 5 Xbones for that night.
My advice? Don’t get stabbed. Spend the evening with your family and buy the Xbox later.

Just hold out. GameStop is doing a Holiday bundle with 2 games the the Xbox 1. GameStop also now has a layaway plan you can use.

These are all online deals. No way in hell am I going anywhere near a store around Thanksgiving.

It depends on the retailer but sometimes they restock multiple times throughout the day, what might get sold out in the morning will be there at night. I always am able to usually get everything I want when I hit the store at an odd hour. They are essentially giving you two free games with this bundle which is a good deal. If it were my money I’d take the early deal but I haven’t bothered to look at what potential madness they are up to for black Friday.

I just buy when I want it and have the budget. Waiting XX time for ‘the best deal’ so I can save a few bucks means XX time I’m not enjoying the product. Screw that.
Buy the first one that hits your target then ignore the ads after that so you don't get grumpy if you see one for 4.72 less than what you paid.

I’m going to be out of the country for that this year, thankfully.

Valid point, but if I can save 40-50-100 bucks, I’d be ok with waiting a bit.

I got mine the day after black friday sales, for the same price and with a free 6-month Gold subs for a hell of a price, still enjoyed dinner in a calm manner and dealt with no crazy rush. The day-after sales are usually the same or damn near and much nicer to deal with.

Screw black friday, nothing’s worth dealing with the idiots in those crowds

I wasn't planning to, I was just wondering if I could get a better online deal by waiting until that weekend.
