Went back tonight after football practice to finish the car and ALAS, it is mended. After about another three hours of swearing at it it’s finally back together, bled and stopping better than ever! Thank god.

Geez, that’s what I call a stubborn one!

ALAS, I do not think it means what you think it means.
Nice job on the repair. I do hope that you replaced the calipers too! It doesn’t appear the sliding caliper is doing what it is supposed to be doing.

I did both front calipers, rotors and pads. Stops REALLY well now. Alas, I will probably spend double the amount of time pulling the rusted on brakes off of that mitsubishi I bought... (Think I used alas the right way that time)

You got it right! My first brake job was on a ‘70-something Mercury Cougar. The drums were rusted into place and required a sledge hammer to remove. I was still too small to effectively wield such a heavy tool, so my uncle showed me how it was done. How we didn’t break those drums is a mystery.

Could have went another couple thousand miles. Still got some pad material on one of those pads haha.
