Since I started running my new Valentine One last week, I had heard nary a peep out of it. I was hoping to have the opportunity to real-world test the thing, and today, the local were out in force on my morning commute, and gave me just what I was looking for.
I learned that the V1 can see at least some of this town’s radar around corners, and that some of their cruisers run always-on in traffic.
The first clip shows someone already pulled over. The second shows an oncoming cruiser.

Couple of questions:
1. At the :28-:30 mark what was the rest of the beeping for? Were they actively targeting you?
2. What dashcam do you have, that thing is clear as hell.
3. If you get pulled over at a check point or at random, can they take this away from you?
4. Towards the end of the video after you pass the cruiser and the beeping is incessant did you do one of these:

Ooo, good to know. I knew about Quebec (and VA and DC), but not Ontario. Thanks for the tip!

1. I’m not sure what that was about honestly, but there was a lot of traffic so probably nothing to do with me. Apparently there were a lot of cops running radar this morning.
2. G1W-C, beware counterfeits and get from here: http://www.spytecinc.com/g1w-c-capacito…
3. The detector is totally legal in most states including NJ... so only if Bad Cops
4. Hehe yeah; I’m not getting too ****y because there’s always the possibility of a crafty LEO waiting for someone who is obviously speeding and nailing them with laser or instant-on. But this is a great tool for being aware of what’s going on. I’m still in the learning phase.

1. Actually that may have been a two-man sting: one with radar, the other pulling people over; and the signal was further up the road from the radar guy

Definitely have seen this, on the highway I take to my girl’s house there is an overpass in which the cops hang out with their guns and when they zap someone a cruiser down the road nabs them.
