Built in Canada != Canadian car...unless we want to call Jettas built in Mexico Mexican cars and Mercedes cars built in the USA American cars.

It’s not really that actually, I included it more as a joke as to how it’s seen as the most American car ever made, but it’s actually made in Canada.

Just saw one for sale. Wanted. Sort of.

You know...I don’t think it’s possible for a car brand outside of Chevrolet or Ford to build the most American car ever. Mopar was in the three, but compared to the other two it doesn’t really show up to those epic Ford v. Chevy-style internet fights.

That GM Epic was just a rebadged Vauxhall Viva. My grandpa had a lhd re-imported on from Belgium. It turned out to be a lemon..

Except for some minor differences in trim many years ago, most Canadian cars are the same as what we have. Good friends and business partners.

Drove one of these once. It was like someone added 700 pounds to a 1978 Chevy Corvette.

Based on the quality differences, I'm calling Jettas built in Mexico Mexican.

Interesting. I would have thought they’d be light?

Oh quite the opposite. The idea was that it was a “safety car” so it has heavy steel beams everywhere to protect the driver and passenger. It’s also built on a burly ladder frame and it’s hardly light.
