In response to PetarVN’s post about German cars. German cars are great, as are Japanese cars.
I grew up playing games like Need For Speed, Midnight Club, Ridge Racer, Auto Modellista, and many others we had rented from Hollywood Video. For me, Japanese cars are the greatest. Throughout my childhood I’ve only really liked Japanese cars.

2017 will be its 50th birthday. I’ve been looking forward to it since 2012.

I see we’re going for the full axis power spectrum here.

I completely agree! Now don’t get me wrong I don’t hate any car “region” I’ve owned countless american cars and a few japanese cars.
But japanese cars in between 1987 and 2002 are by far the best 15 years of automotive genius. This is back when it wasn’t about having the most horsepower since they all had the “gentlemen’s agreement” of 276hp* therefore they had to actually make the car better instead of using more power as a remedy.
Do I love Hellcats? yes of course. Are they actually great cars? I doubt it. The power is the only thing that makes it great. Give it 276hp and what do you have left? A freaking boat anchor on wheels that handles like a Ikea shopping cart with 4 swiveling casters.
*I know some were a little underrated and actually made a bit more than 276hp but they were all still relatively equal.
Also koodos for including the Cosmo that was definitely one of the top dogs! It is for sure within my top 5 japanese cars.

Did the S13 hatch ever have that front end factory? I thought only the silvia notchback had that from end and the hatch had pop up headlights?

It’s the Sil-Eighty; a model that was offered for a limited time after many people had swapped Silvia front ends onto their hatches because the pop up headlights were a tad more expensive than the Silvia headlights. At least that’s what I read somewhere not too long ago.

Ah yes you are completely right it is a Sileighty I totally forgot about those.

I still always prefered the Silvia anyway. A two tone seafoam green/gray S13 Silvia is my ideal S-chassis including the s15.
