Yes, this duck.

Kinja'd!!!

Looks good. Just over 2 kg of duck for €7 (do your own conversions) so lots of duck for the money.

Take it out of the oven though and you drain off endless fat and are left with a carcass with a few strips of meat here and there. Tasted fine, rather darker and gamier than chicken, but you wouldn’t want to be hungry before tucking in.

Wouldn’t bother trying again.

I’ve had pheasant before, but I’ve never had duck. I’ll have to try it one of these days, but I’ve never been one to go out of my way to try any kind of game. I think it’s because I tried venison first and hated it.

You hated venison?!? Different strokes I guess.

Not surprisingly duck has a lot of insulation.

I’ve never had to cook my own duck - I’ve had it many times as peking duck (which I really enjoy) and once as a fancy main course where the other option was flank steak (which I also really love, but is something I can cook myself).

When it’s done right, it’s fantastic, and there should be enough meat in one duck breast to have a very tasty course.

You mention the endless fat - I also wish to try duck-fat fried chips (I would have said french fries but you posted a picture with a GBP sticker) since I’ve heard these are fantastic.

It was nasty. I’m open to trying it again but the first time it was so bad.

My favorite method has been sausage. That seems to be the way to go.

I did have it in a spaghetti sauce once where it was ok, but it was literally no different than ground beef so I thought why bother?

Yeah. That application wouldn't be that great. The sauce would overpower flavor from the meat.

But when I could taste the flavor from the meat, NO ME GUSTA.

not a big fan of duck - prefer some of the other small game birds, (or even just a nicely done free range chicken)

I like to let the people at the takeaway do my delicious crispy duck for me. Sure, it’s expensive, and probably sorta dodgy, but I won’t be thinking about any of that while I’m tucking into delicious parcels of duck, hoi sin sauce, crunchy cucumber and little bits of onion.

That looks nothing like Rally Chicken, thank goodness.

I like the gamey taste of duck. Delicious.

I replied at 6:28PM - I think I had been drinking at the time. Definitely saw it as a Euro sticker this morning. My mistake!
