What Are Your Favorite Halloween Movies?

I have two I watch every year. The ‘burbs and Arsenic and Old Lace.

I don’t know that The ‘burbs gets associated with halloween, but the Klopeks scared the shit out of me as a kid and that is close enough of a qualifier for me. This movie also has one of the biggest explosions I’ve seen on film. I wish Tom Hanks would make another comedy:(

Arsenic and Old Lace is an old halloween standard and rightfully so. It’s presented as a farce but when you realize what the actual situation is.... so screwed up.

I freaking LOVE The ‘Burbs. I say it’s halloweenish. Another favorite is Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil.

The Burbs gets nowhere near as much love as it deserves. It’s such a great movie about moving to the suburbs and going nuts, and that doesn’t just apply to the Klopeks (pronounced ‘claw-pecks’ for fun).

The best part of the movie is easily the soundtrack. Captured the lunacy of the whole thing so perfectly.

The original Halloween (1978) is a favorite of mine. My wife and I watch it every year on Halloween.

I also like the Scream franchise, The Strangers, Psycho, and Friday the 13th is pretty good.

It’s one movie. Tucker And Dale Vs Evil. It’s about 2 hillbillies defending themselves from stupid horny college students. There’s some heavy gore, but to a comical level.

I always make it a point to listen to the ‘38 War of the Worlds broadcast either the 30th or 31st.

I will also usually watch Cowboy Bebop: Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.
