The Lotus 79 has an extremely active community on iRacing, which is really cool. They have a series called the CTC (Classic Team Championship) where based on your results in the standings, you get assigned a paint job to make the cars look like a 1978-1980 grid and almost all of the cars on the grid participate. Since it’s such a difficult car to drive well, it has a bit of a hardcore cult following and an extremely friendly grid that you get to know. I used to know who I could push, who to just sit back and wait with, and who I could go wheel to wheel with through a sweeper. The fans also run a broadcast with commentary for the big Sunday race, share setups like crazy (apparently my old ones are
still
in demand), and you’re not likely to get flamed if you fuck up and crash as long as it’s not something egregiously stupid.

Might want to add that fast track out of rookie series happens at R3.0 now instead of 4.0.

Hmm, I did not know that. When I went through Rookies many years ago when the Legends was the Rookie car. I will have to make that adjustment. Thanks

No problem. I’ve only been in for a bit over 2 years now. It is a recent change iirc.
