MrsZtp has a question for oppo, has anyone tried any key organizers, and what are your opinions of them. Ones like KeySmart 2.0, Key-Bar, etc.

They look pretty hard to use if you have key fobs.

oooh, I am curious about this too! I have been looking at Keyport for a while, but they cant do my BMW key as it is too thick. https://mykeyport.com/

It’s not meant for car keys I believe, just the ‘normal size’ keys, for houses, locks, etc. at least I think so.

It looks useful, but it might come down to build quality I think.

That confuses me. How does a person have enough non-car keys to necessitate a key swiss army knife?

I would also like to hear what someone who owns one of these thinks of it. I have kicked around the idea a bunch of times, but I have always bailed because I just don’t see the keys staying folded up all nice like that.

My keychain is on the table

Its massive size implies

The scope of what I’m able

To unlock any time

I'm thinks by in terms of 1. a way to put all your keys in one place, and 2. Someone who runs a campground or school. I mean, it lets you fold them up for convenience, which I do like.

It seems MrsZtp isn’t the only interested party. I’d imagine this would fit in your pocket nicer than a regular key ring.

2 front door keys. Back door. Garage door. Bike lock. Bike locker (at train station). Add car key, fob, tags, Tile, bottle opener... Now I’m thinking of attaching one of these foldouts to my set on a biner.

Just specced out to around $100 with a chipped key. Seems spendy.

I know we got separate keys for the front and back door, plus the in laws house key, it does look useful.

A friend of mine posited a theory - a person’s intelligence is inversely proportional to the number of keys he must carry.

I can’t remember what sparked it, but the comment was aimed directly at our high-school janitor.

I personally carry four keys at all times: car, truck, front door, bike lock. The car key is has a fob, so it stays on its own separate ring. I also have to keep a few on yet another ring that is always nearby but never in my pocket: bike rack lock, key for the wife’s Explorer, keys for a couple of padlocks, and the luggage key.

I’ve thought about trying one of the key organizers but the price is just a bit too high to justify something I just want to try out.

I changed my locks when we moved in. Front door, backdoor, basement and garage are all one key.

Then you can't spread your keys through your fingers to use as a weapon.

How many keys do you even have? I have 2 and just put them on a cheap carabiner.

Unless you obtain some extra security from the multiple house keys, re-key for a single key for the whole house. I’ve done the job myself before and it makes things so much easier. Still, I've got way too many keys even though there's only one for all my house doors.

We bought the locks at different times, and I don't know how to re-key them, :/.

We bought them all at Lowes and they re-keyed them for us. It took a couple days. Probably not worth it to do it now unless you intend to replace them all but it can be still done if they are similar enough.

From the comments so far, some people are genuinely interested, but no one has it. If my wife really wants to try it out, we’ll have to do a review or something...

The easiest way to do it is to pick out a matching lock set and order them with matching keys. Our house came with one key to rule them all (deadbolts and knobs, front, back and garage doors). Now that the locks are starting to fail (cheap locks, lots of use), we will soon be in the market for a complete set. I have a few temporary mis-matched deadbolts keeping the less-utilized doors secured until my wife finally decides.
