I assume they mean in their district somewhere, though looking at a map of the district I can make a few guesses as to where it might end up. That being said, I am glad I don’t live in Fairfax.

I think they should post afterward, with a scoreboard for each arresting officer. At the Ford DSFL event, there were a few officers from the DUI fatality team. They’ve seen some fucked up shit, to put it lightly.

Constitutionally, police have no right to stop drivers at a random checkpoint. By posting the location, people have the “opportunity” to avoid it. Nor can the police search your car without probable cause. If an officer asks “have you been drinking”, you can refuse to answer, and they can do nothing about that (5th amendment and all).

Well, you may think that until you get caught up in a checkpoint with an overzelous cop thinking he’s king shit, have to get out of the car, pass all the human tricks with flying colors, then still wind up in handcuffs and in the back of an Impala on your way back to the station where you have to do even more human tricks, many of which are repeats, getting accused of being a druggie, then back into handcuffs and the Impala over to the hospital where you have to sit chained to a bench until they take a video statement and a quart* of blood, then make you pay for a cab home because the won’t let you walk the 2 blocks back to your appartment. By the time you get home it’s 4am and you were ready for bed 6 hours ago when the ordeal started. All the while your girlfriend is back at the checkpoint getting groped by some actually drunk guy and you have to find some way to go get her, and then find some way to go get your car in the morning. And because the asshole was so convincing, it leaves you guessing how you could somehow have ingested the drug they were looking for, contemplating getting a private blood test in case there was any funny business or if it would even be effective, calling a lawyer to see what your options are if anything should come of it, and worrying for six weeks until you get a call from the arresting officer saying “yep, you’re good. We didn’t find anything.” Well no shit.

Fuck DUI checkpoints and their 4th amendment violations.
