"JR1" (type35bugatti)

Rules: The car had to be produced new in 1924.
For me it would have to be the final year of the Rolls Royce Ghost 40/50. This is the car that made the Rolls Royce name what it is today. It might have been outclassed by the Roaring Twenties but it’s influence on automotive history is undeniable.

Probably the current generation Nissan Fronteir. They’ve been making it that long, right?

My first-impulse thought is a Franklin. Because it would be in the right price range, and I expect 1924 me to be kind of a dolt like that.

None, I’d take a 1920’s Indian Chief. Back then cars were just as deadly as bikes so might as well have some fun before dying at age 32

Not as long as the 370Z. I think they’ve been making that since the Columbus days.

(Pictured: another of their fine offerings, but not the one I’m listing)
Chenard-Walcker 22CV. Checks all of the boxes.
Bonkers engine - 3.9L straight eight. There’s an engine configuration that should still live
Raced at Le Mans
That’s all of the boxes, really.

Ignoring finances, I’ll go with the Chrysler B 70
2,700 lbs and 70 hp, 4-wheel hydraulic brakes, it’s basically a Miata.
And that winged helmet radiator cap.

I do love me a mid 20’s Pierce Arrow. The Model 33 was the one to have but I could live with a Model 80 as well.

Why is that? Not as grand as a Lincoln or as utilitarian as a Ford Model T. I know very little about Hupmobiles.

In my price range?
Probably an Essex Super Six or Oakland 6-54A. I’d want something a bit more upscale than a run of the mill Ford, Chevy, or Star, but still reasonably attainable.

That’s assuming my price range would still be the same. I would have been in a lower tax bracket back then, living costs were lower, and, as my great-grandfather figured out, there were certain “alternative” income sources readily available.
Still, in the event of the last point, you would still want to keep up appearances by owning something believable with your legitimate job.

If its the one from Pebble Beach this year, it did get new coachwork in 1932. Still, 1924 chassis. Originally, it might have looked more like this:
