I’m a sucker for almost anything made by tamiya. The engineering of the kits is poor but the detail on the bodies is first rate.

I used to have one of these guys. Crummy build but lots of fun.

Thought the same after I built my subaru brat. Grew up lusting after them but not as much fun to build as other RCs.

Still love their static models. Still have 3 to finish.

I guess any gears used by an R/C truck in the process of crawling are sort of crawler gears. Even if they aren’t a super-low ratio in the transfer case allowing 4000:1 gearing at the wheels.

You can even get portal axles for the Axial crawlers. I’d love to get them but they are just too expensive.

He’s moving away from scale and into more speedy stuff but I’ve always loved scale...not sure why. Maybe I could buy his Trail Finder. To be honest, If i could find a nice 80 series body that I could make fit...I would.

fyi— they just re-released the blizzard.. i bought one as soon as i found out.

nikko used to make a ‘scorpion’ model truck that was a hilux on crappy rc gear.. i keep mine around simply because hilux.
