Sounds stolen for sure. Hes implying he had it for a while by saying “my old mazda miata” but doesn’t know how to drive stick, hes very brief with not much information (like mileage). Its most likely stolen. Very very sketchy.

Another fact to take in that it might be stolen is that it seems to be visually modified, which are big targets for people who steal cars. Because they are just the worst type of people. It’s one thing to steal a stock car, but worse to steal something someone put extra money in.

At that price it’s worth looking into.

The first thought that comes to mind is that it’s a scam/stolen car, but perhaps the owner had an injury that prevents him from being able to drive three pedals...?

I’d ask the seller for the VIN “to run Carfax”, then use the VIN to find out if it was stolen. If everything checks out, see the car in person and if the VIN doesn’t match, WALK AWAY. The guy better have a title for it, too.
