Yes, you can flat tow a Micra with a 60hp Twingo. No, you never should.

I’m just making sure you don’t make the same mistakes as me, your friendly neighbourhood Twingo tamer.

I can’t imagine how that could ever end badly.

This actually went shockingly well, apart from the whole going up hills part... We did only have to go about half a mile though.

Yeah low power and hills aren’t a great match.

Yeah, 60hp pulling a combined 1800 kg. It managed... Just.

I imagine it was rather slow.

Very very slow. The limits were 20 and 30mph where we were though so we managed.

Oh that's not so bad.

Na, if it was bigger or faster roads I'd have just left the Micra, too dangerous.

don’t let this happen to you

Don't worry, I wasn't that ambitious/ stupid.

That’s not too bad. According to my possibly dodgy maths that’s 33 bhp per tonne.
A truck hauling a container can gross up to 44 tonnes and is generally moved by about 400 bhp. According to the same dodgy maths that’s 9 bhp per tonne. Lots of torque, low gearing and lots of gears gets the job done.

I have no torque which is probably the biggest problem. 1st gear is really low though, which explains how it managed to pull away pretty smoothly.
