!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I mean, $3,500 is about what I spend on a year of maintenance for mine. Having a parts car stashed away might actually be economical. But I have nowhere to stash it. Also, the navy blue interior is kind of neat.

Kinja'd!!!

I really need a barn.

You really spend that much per year on maintenance? What kind of things does it need that often that add up to so much?

Looks too nice to be a parts car!

The luxurious seats are stuffed with eagle down, and the dashboard inlaid with the beaks of 1000 eagles. Also there are some eagles under the floorboards.

You should have gotten the luxury edition it had so many more eagles...you missed out.

Nope! It’s not like you are going to need fenders, doors, or wings. everything that will fail on your car is probably broken on that parts car already or will fail soon as well. Also, who is going to pull those parts and install them? This isn’t a ‘60s Malibu where being able to just pull a carb off a parts car will save the day.

Much eagle, very freedom.

But seriously, a few examples?

In all seriousness:

1. I didn’t see any interior pics, how do you know there is anything worth saving in there

2. The electronics and suspension systems seem like it would it worth it to have...if they worked, but they don’t.

I know, but the computer is fried. It would be a shame to carve it up, but the cost of getting that thing running again is more than it’s worth.

The interior looks tip-top, but it’s navy blue. Mine is tan.

I don’t think I could handle navy blue, it would be like sitting in a delta jet all day.

Little things crap out that cost big money to replace. A headlight ballast, a motorized sliding vent cover, a spring release for the headlamp washer...it all adds up.

You’re still in a delta jet though...

I would take it and part it out. Double your money in 2 years. Yeah storage space is a factor.

Truth, and what you didn’t need immediately, could probably start slowly parting if you wanted to make some cash.

Should have bought a Jetta. Oh wait, they are just as expensive to work on. Nevermind.
