Since tips@jalopnik.com couldn’t be bothered, I decided to post these myself on Oppo.

Both the Kia Soul and the Chevy (rental, probably) were with the mules.

My personal opinion is that if a car company wants to test their cars inconspicuously, then they should probably avoid doing it near national parks (where there are plenty of tourists with cameras). This example was near Bryce Canyon. Land Rover has been known to patron Pikes Peak in the past.

I kind of wonder what the point of disguising mules is in this day and age.

Unless they really feel the new styling is going to be such a selling point that they need to avoid an Osborne effect.

I agree. “Hyundai” and “styling” are not usually words that go together. At least not when talking about cheap sedans and hatchbacks like these two.

Hyundai has some of the best styling in the cheap car segment, thats not saying a lot but still. I still agree with Berang that it seems pointless to me, but who knows. What were you doing near bryce?

Ha, I was visiting Bryce of course.
I still not sure that I’m with you on the styling. I think that any car not made by toyota or honda in this segment has an equal amount of styling. Which is to say that some design elements have “trickled down” from the more expensive models.
