I don’t think I could ever race cars for a living. It seems more mentally challenging than physical.

we want an F1 where the driver’s skill is the most important factor - not the aero designer
Soooo.... Not F1? Pretty sure that the dominant car has almost always won in F1.

Try iRacing. It’s actually a pretty good approximation of how frustrating it is to race a car.

I appreciate his sentiment...
But looking at F1 as a business venture, you need to eliminate variables. The driver is the greatest variable in the equation, and one that cannot be factored out, so they spend money and attention on aero and everything else, because those are variables the bean-counters can control.
I propose a “driver’s race” where everyone must pilot a bone-stock GT Cruiser. After seeing what Tiff can do with a 1st-gen Scion xB, I have no doubt he’d kick ass.

Is it online for free?

No, it’s not free. It’s a monthly subscription, and you still have to pay for the extra cars and tracks. Totally worth it, though. There’s no AI. It’s solely multiplayer racing with amazing physics. You can’t do it without a wheel, either. They’re usually running promos for new users to get the first three months for $12 or something.

Not too bad. I’m not to good with car video games. I can kill zombies on COD though.

It’s not like Gran Turismo or Forza. It’s actually way harder. There’s a steep learning curve because on a computer, your instinct is to push too hard and let the game do the work, but you can’t with iRacing. I was practicing for weeks before daring to enter my first race and I still didn’t finish. It’s the only video game that I’ve ever played that improved my real-world driving.

I thought those games were sensitive enough since i’m sliding around all the time. I’m afraid of real driving now lol :]

You’re in the wrong field, then.

I could deal with the mental side of things, just not quite the physical side of things as I’m not quite at peak fitness

it would be nice to have a competitive championship rather than 1 guy running away with it like the red bull domination

Some of those drivers are short like me lol. But there are too many buttons and stuff inside the cabins. All at 180mph.
