This swap is literally done, I drove it, everything is perfect .. other than the motor needs new pistons and rings and I have already purchased. That is all you need to do to get this car running is install the pistons, and drop in the motor (wouldn’t hurt to throw a set of bearings while its out, but not needed by any means).

If you had the time, other than the wiring harness which is in god-knows how bad of a condition, this would be a fun project. But at $10k....LOL! That’s probably what he’s in on it. No info on the quality of the cage either.

I sold a non-running 98 impreza after timing slipped and crashed all the valves, and had rust for just shy of $2k. Should have been scrap.

Sold 2000 Impreza RS with a transmission that spit metal all over the highway, and a history showing several wrecks for $2500, and I had people beating down my door.

you know... my imprezas were alarmly similar to his, crap body, crap engine... I shoulda got $10k!

I love the 2.5RS Subarus as they were dominant when I first became aware of WRC. However, this is insane. Why in the hell would anyone pay $10k for a car that needs a rebuilt, non-original motor, with a caved in door? If he want's to get anywhere near that amount he's going to need to completely part it out. As a package, he'd be lucky to get $5k.
