Gregggggggg Easterbrook once mused that legislators can’t possibly prioritize safety as much as they claim while allowing for absurdly distracting and disengaging features in vehicles.
As for me, there will always be an outlet for stupid, lazy, or entitled people in the form of a vehicle, and I drive over 30k miles a year for work alone, so same as it ever was to me.
