Soon you can literally breathe a sigh of relief, instead of choking on diesel fumes. The new Cab is petrol/ electric hybrid. I like it.

Love it. All of my London memories include nasal passages caked with soot after just a few hours.

Some of the buses already have actually, but yeah more need to as well. I couldn’t believe how bad the air quality was last time I was in London.

I’ve not been there for about 3-4 years but wouldn’t be surprised if it was that bad.
The buses round my way are horrible smoggy things that always roll coal when pulling away

I was there in July and it’s pretty terrible. I go into London when I go for the tennis at Wimbledon and it just seems to get worse every year.

Though quite a few of the new London buses ‘Boris Buses’ have been driving solely on diesel due to a battery fault (the batteries are being fixed at no cost to TfL and I guess it’s to be expected with new technology).
Some interviews from London bus drivers have expressed a view that they aren’t fit for purpose as when the battery fails the diesel kicks in but at a reduced level to satisfy emissions,

I read a headline, jumped for joy and ran outside only to take a deep breath and pass out. 2 hours later after coming too, I read the rest of the story and went on to curse sensationalist journalism. Still my lungs look forward to not suffering from being downwind of Central London.

I genuinely like how that looks. I would drive one.

It is? I was there a couple of weeks ago and didn’t notice anything unusual.

Agreed. Way better than whatever this was:
Or this:
Or these:
Or anything that anyone else could come up with, really...
The horror! Why, Nissan? Why?

It may have just been the days I was there, but the pollution was terrible. You could see the smog hanging in th air and it affected my breathing.

Same here, a great update of a classic in my eyes.

I hadn’t heard about that, that’s pretty poor. Hopefully they get them running properly again. The sooner we move public transport away from diesel the better.

If they do get rid of the older ones and replace them with these the difference should be huge. The current cabs are an environmental disaster.

Ye’, hopefully getting sorted. The worst part is the drivers say the bus becomes sluggish and less responsive. Not something you want happening in a heavily congested densely populated city. The drivers also say the problem is actually more worse than reported. Time will tell.

Yeah that would be less than ideal. Driving a bus around London would be bad enough already.
