The S10 will be home today, after a little over two months. My friend and his dad are finishing up the repair. Turns out the rear transmission seal took a dump. It was a $15.00 part and I needed about a quart of transmission fluid to put back in it. The total cost of repair was a little over $20.00. They aren’t going to charge me anything but I’m going to leave them a check, anyway. It was only a 3 or so hour job but they have been swamped with family stuff and other projects and I told them it was no hurry.

My friend sent me a picture of it last night:

The dust is so thick from sitting in their driveway since August that you can’t even tell the truck is pink! I just hope nothing else broke while it was sitting for so long - but, that’s about how long it sat before I got it.

I need friends like that. I need to change the rear main seal on my 86 Chevy 3/4 ton. like you it’s a $15 dollar part but I have NO desire to tackle this job on my own. Do I know what to do? yes. Do I know how to fix it myself? absolutly. Do I want to do it? NOT A FUCKING CHANCE!
