Coolant update

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , Took it in this morning to have some new bushings pressed in and, as a bonus, have the coolant issue checked out. They ran the gunk I saved through some tests and found no hydrocarbons...WHEW! Turns out it was likely from a semi- blocked coolant passage that is no longer blocked after they flushed it. The gunk was likely residue from the PO mixing coolant, before I had my radiator replaced my coolant res was full of the stuff and even since then its been an ever present (though not nearly as much) thing.

Bad news is that my coolant is leaking out of an auxiliary heater core valve for the back passengers. People tend to just bypass these as they all eventually have problems, but I use my all the time and love it, so its getting replaced.

I still have a minor shake at speed but they think its tire related and are tracking it down. HOPEFULLY my long and tiring list of little issues will finally be near and end.

For the record, I’m still unhappy with the previous shop, for the things I’ve had to fix on my own that they did, for the crappy gear noise I get from their bad setup and especially for stripping the crap out of my oil pan and not telling me they cheaply coiled it only to find out as my plug is nearly falling out the night before I leave on a big trip...just not mad enough to sue.

I was super surprised with the last post. It wasn’t like you honestly. You know cars and how the work and fail. Too many variables even on simple issues. No need to get all worked up my awesome OPPO compadre.

Our Aston and Merc customers sometimes pay in the $10,000+’s for repairs. Things not related or related can fail the next week. It’s always a 50/50 shot whether the customer will flip out completely and demand justice or realize, “crap, just my luck this whole new thing broke now. Oh well, gotta fix it.”

It wasn’t like me, the last few months have been a never ending series of those “rare” one off annoyances and expenses. This was probably just my breaking point. Headed to my rental property Saturday to fix a pocket door just in time for my tax audit to go through to find out how much more they think I owe...that kinda thing.

can confirm, being audited for 2 years, have been audited before. Its not not like im trying to cheat either, it takes me forever to do my taxes and I use all the software and get help from as many people as I can.

My parents went though that recently. Their tax guy for years was basically copy and pasting their returns not adjusting for anything through years. Shit, he still had my dad having his ooold truck from forever ago and some old ass Motorola walkie talkies from 1994 lol. They got in the hole with the IRS for over $150K after an audit. They got a new tax guy to help them with their taxes but IRS agents didn’t go without a fight. At one point, putting a hold on all my dad’s bank accounts. That didn’t hurt him more than all of his employees not getting paid for 2 weeks. About $80,000 in salaries. Finally they got their tax stuff cleared up last month enough to where they actually are expecting a return.

No, its not worth the trouble at this point. Im not happy about it, but i am not going to get into a thing with him unless im ready to carry it to the next level...which im not anymore

It would be a losing battle unfortunately. You made the wise choice. I never confronted my last mechanic either.
