I finally took the time to finish cleaning the pink plastidip residue off of my style 5s.

Using gasoline and shop rags (at the suggestion of arben72, thank you good sir) I cleaned the remaining 2 wheels in about an hour with help from an assistant, including mounting and removing them one at a time. They aren’t perfect, but they will be fully detailed when I transfer these over to the xj soon.

Also have been slowly refinishing the c4 wheels, have one ready to wet sand, and the other ready to polish. Two wheels remain untouched. Since these wheels are mostly a large flat face, detailing is easy. Wire brush with drill, abrasive brush on dremel, followed by soapy water and 2000 grit paper, then polish.

ugh, what a NIGHTMARE getting red out of here must be.

I actually considered the inbetweenyness of wheel designs when picking, based on difficulty to clean

Definately not a bad idea, basket weaves are extremely difficult to keep clean. But I also have 6 sets of wheels between my two cars so I might as well have as many different styles as I can.

I approooove.

Are the salad shooters going on the e24? I don’t think I’ve ever seen that combo - intriguing.
