Came across these two buddies who are freshly minted Engineers at the Borg Warner facility a couple miles up the road.

Kinja'd!!!

Hahah audible gasp at the Audi as I strode by...because although I own a Mitsubishi I’ll be a B3/4 Audi man forever.

Kinja'd!!!

Formerly of SUNY Potsdam they were pretty cool dudes with pretty serious Jalop chops.

The S4 was a recent purchase from a Pennsylvania man who had bigger turbo plans SO he gave it coil packs from an LS2, 7A cams (from the non-turbo 5cyls), balanced internals and the 6 speed tranny with the taller 1st gear s’ploooosh . Unfortunately he can’t take it past 6k rpm without bucking, hopefully only because of a boost leak. He drove a supercharged Impreza before it threw a rod and comes from a long line of BRG colored Jaguar owners, which alwyas gets a pass in my book.

The Evo has a slew of factory upgrades like a super beefy strut tower brace and non factoy stuff like coilovers with swift springs, an open dump wastegate...I dunno honestly we were mostly focusing on the S4 hahah. The dude also has an E36 M3 drift project he’s turboing so thats awesome.

They pulled in and immediately popped the hood on the S4 with a coil of spare vacuum hose in hand.

At that point I was emerging from the underside of my car, supported by my hydraulic jack and jackstands to diagnose a power steering leak because thats just how my parts store visits go.

That killed the car for me.

I loved the stance, wheels, mods. Then that.

I’m one of three recently graduated engineers in my department at work and our daily drivers are a 2005 GTI, 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT and a 2000 Rover 45. Two outta three ain’t bad.

lol I didn’t bother to ask, I didn’t wanna ask I just let that end of the car be.

Dude was well put together in casual northeast prep ensemble, kinda the opposite of a flat brim and phoenician shades so yeah it was kindof a mystery as I left.

Some badass turbo’s they make. Should get the ridiculous new ones they make with eveything integated. Or K24’s.

Yeah this bigass plant has been behind my neighborhood forever, just across the street from the Ithaca Airport, which makes sense and I think they make mostly jet engine parts but I really have no idea I should’ve asked.

It had black leather and heated seats and according to the dude they are fantastic and I believe him.

In that moment I cared little about its performance and swooned over the thought of enjoying heated leather once more

My current DD has black and brown leather heated seats, but I would trade those for a V8 and manual transmission any day.
