Ever since this first came out I’ve contemplated getting a tattoo based on it. What should be changed about it beforehand?

Maybe the colors so that it shows up better on your skin? Or more detail on the tires so they look more like tires and not rounded squares. Cool idea for a tat.

It's a cool concept but it would need to be pretty big to come out well and not blur together in a few years

I hadn't really thought of that, but solid point. I probably would have to get touch up work done way too frequently.

The colors would definitely be changed. I would probably just use this as a concept for the artist to improve on.

While researching tattoo artists see what they think and what they can come up with to tweak it in ways to make it a better tattoo.

I have to say, the artist could easily change my mind. One time, a few years back, I had my mind set on an inner lip tattoo. The artist informed me how fast they may fade and how much of a waste of time it is. I didn't end up with one.
