Wrong!
It costs 36.999 reais. Who the hell can afford something like that? You can actually buy quite a lot of car for that money, even in Brazil!

Just over double the cost of one in the US...

You could buy a 500SE for that.

Jesus christ, that’s $10,000 USD. Or as much as a decent early to mid 2000s Boxster S!

I guess it depends what they mean by top of the line, they can get pricey with add ons

It’s only got 16GB of pleb DDR3 RAM.
It’s overpriced no matter where you are in the world.

Dayum... and the specs still don’t quite measure up to the Dell I bught for a hair over 3 thousand reais. I can’t believe people actually buy these.

Yup... I bought my XPS Special Editin for 3000 reais. That’s 12 of mine, plus a full thousand bucks, for one single Mac Pro

I’m guessing it’s the top of the line available at Apple stores. Usually, you don’t get to customize or build to order goods imported to Brazil, be they cars or computers. You have closed deals and that’s it.

Here is one I spec’s out in 2 minutes
$9,600

That’s Brazil for ya... a few years back, someone decided the country was well on its way to becoming a first world superpower, so people thought it would be wise to invest in the luxury goods market. Then the economic meltdown happened.

Damn... not even in the US, I’d be able to justify that kind of investment in a computer... specs don’t seem that amazing either, not that I know much about computers to begin with, but I’ve seen more powerful machines built for way less money.

My machine is nearly 4 years old and its got 8 2.4 Ghz cores, 24gb of ram, a killer graphics card (quadro) and 3 TB of hardware Raid storage (in addition to the SSD main drive) and it was like $2500 new. My coworkers machine is newer and it costs the same but it has faster cores, 64 GB of ram and an even better graphics card. Mac Pro is CP all the way.
