That’s not too bad; in Ontario when you turn 16 you get a fake tease of a license and have to buy into the driver training scam to get your second fake license (which actually allows you to drive alone) within 8 months, or you have to wait one year without driver training to get your second fake license. Then, after a year with your second fake, you can get a real license.

I'd support this system if it actually produced knowledgeable drivers, but it doesn't.

We have learners’ permits but you only have to have one for 6 months and then you can get an intermediate restricted license (if you're 16).

Mine doesn’t die, but when I got it, it had a pretty serious leak from the valve covers and they would drip onto the headers and it was quite smokey. Those were replaced the 2nd week.

Mine has been a bit of a money pit. I’m pretty sure we’ve cumulatively totaled the car in maintenance costs. I’m stuck with my brother’s questionable decision until this coming Labor Day and then new car! Only 11 more months!
