You can keep your Ferraris and Lamborghinis. I’ll take a DeTomaso Longchamp or a Maserati Khamsin any day of the week.

That’s actually the Shamal, the Khamsin is the yellow one.

I only see one supercar. That being said I like them all.

Well, the term is subjective. I consider all of them to be supercars, even if most of them are fast GTs.

By that logic a Mercedes 560SEC is a supercar. With standards so low you might be a student at a US public school.

The difference though is that a Mercedes will never be a supercar, even the Mercedes-McLaren. A supercar to me is a high powered exotic car built by a boutique manufacturer. There are exceptions, however, like the Ford GT.

Oh silly supercar definition arguments.

But in all fairness, you're wrong.

Curious, why is the ford GT a super if the SLS & SLR is not?

Simple, a supercar is either a mid-engined high powered car, OR a high powered car (front or mid engined) made by an exclusive manufacturer. Therefore, an SLS isn’t a supercar, it’s a GT car, but a Ford GT is a supercar.

What about the Mercedes 300SLR? I wouldn’t put Maserati in the same league as DeTomaso or even Cizeta, especially since Maserati now has an entry level Fiat with the Trident badge on it. The Shamal only had 350ish horsepower, and the Khamsin had about the same. Even the Longchamp is far from a supercar. It’s just odd to think that just because of the marque you’d consider something a supercar, like an Aston Martin V8 Vantage which is an exotic but not a supercar.

I like the Bitter SC and CD a bit more than the DeThomaso Longchamp. the SC is just a bit sleeker, although much the same genre.
