As I’ve mentioned before, I find something very alluring about classic cars, especially ones from the 70’s, that are kept in good shape despite being a model of little collectability or interest. I said it before with this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and again with this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Yet both of those seem downright sexy when compared to this gold-on-white 1975 Plymouth Fury. It’s in pretty good shape, with no rust, but there are imperfections. It’s just somebodies car, albeit one that’s been taken care of. This is probably as mundane and middle of the road as family cars came in the 70’s, and the fact that someone bothered keeping this thing on the road four forty years pleases me.

When I was a kid in high school, I remember there was an ex-cop Fury III listed in the newspaper classifieds (this is how old I am, get over it). I looked at it, but it needed a new transmission.

I turned it down in favour of a hearse because I wanted to impress a girl who I thought was a goth. It’s a good thing the hearse fell through because it turned out she actually wasn’t a goth.

I still have a standing bounty at the bottom of my car fund should I ever find a Disco Nova in good condition. I got some bad ideas in my head.

So, did you get the girl or not? lol

I've always had a strange desire for a late 50-early 60's Cadillac Hearse or Ambulance.

It didn’t work out, it turns out she didn’t like cars at all.

Now she drives a Saturn Ion and is an accountant.

Bummer. Oh well, at least you didn't get the car for the sole purpose of impressing the girl.

Well, in that case I would still have ended up with a hearse, which I think we can both agree is a suitable consolation prize.
