I was hoping for box flares, but this looks good enough. I’m first on the list at my dealer for whenever they get an allocation. Still on fence until I hear some impressions of it.

Based on the M235i reviews, I think it will be a really good car; more loved than the M3/4.

I’m hoping some magazine does a huge M2, 1M, and F80, E92, E46 M3 comparison.

So it’s basically a 2016 E46 M3?

All joking aside, I really like it. Looks good. Sounds good (eh maybe). And probably drives great. I really like how they paid a bit of homage to the 1M and E30 M3 in the ad.

I honestly hope it drives as good as it looks, otherwise it’d a great complete letdown.

BMW has to price it right as well. They made a mistake with the 1M, by pricing it six grand less than. the M3. Maybe it was because they wanted to keep it exclusive? Maybe because they didn’t know what they were doing? I honestly don’t know. I also wish that they make more than 700 of them, too.

Yeah, the 1M was too much and they basically said “here’s the best driving car we’ve made in a decade...we’re only making 700.”

I thought you had a 1M as well? This does seems like it will fill that niche pretty well, hopefully without the idiotic upcharge.

I got to ride in a 1M on VIR. Oh my. Oh my lord. The best thing.

And here’s the sad part: people crash these. There are currently less than 700, and that deeply saddens me.

Been busy. Got engaged in August. Wedding in March. Free time/Jalopnik posting took a backseat for a while. Picked up my SVR in April, put 10k miles on it so far. Fiance is in grad school 400 miles away so it gets a decent amount of mileage on weekend trips. Louder than a F-Type R Coupe when you hit the loud button and the tested 0-60 on all seasons is in the low 4s. The radar cruise is messing with my habits in other cars, expecting them to slow down and maintain distance like the Rover.
