Looks like I’m gonna need a tune sooner or later (Or at least when APR finally supports my ECU).
(Yes I know the RS will probably have tunes that will increase past that)

I’m in the same boat with my S3, although I’m not 100% sure that I will tune. From what I have heard APR in particular is having a tough time with the new ECU’s.

Oh yeah? Well we’ll see what help your little tunes offer you when I swap a friggin Coyote into my RS. THAT’LL FIX YA!!!

Is there enough room?

A VW CC 2.0T is on my wish list when I’m ready to start shopping for a new daily driver. An APR tune will be included in my budget when the time comes. If I remember correctly it adds about 50HP and 70 Ft-Lbs for around $600. Not to mention moves all the power into the more usable rev range. Sounds like a sweet deal to me.

If we’re playing that game then I get to use the W12 out of this.

Should be because it already has a Mustang motor in it.

From what I’ve read it seems that they’re still trying to circumvent the cage around the ECU the 2016 cars have. 2015 cars seem to be fine otherwise.

I drove a 2.0T CC with a manual... it was sooooo delicious.

The biggest issue is if the engine is transversely mounted in the RS, versus longitudinally mounted in the Mustang. I imagine it will be since the that’s how the Focus’s engine is mounted.

Gotcha, well mine is a 16’ so I guess I’m waiting. I will be interested to hear how it goes for you if you decide to get yours tuned. I’m a novice when it comes to VAG so it would be cool to hear a review from a fellow oppponaut rather than some clown on a forum.

This is how the cage looks, it’s the long metal enclosure with two rivets.
I know there’s other tuners that have bypassed it but I want to stick with APR.
Funny enough this is my first VW as well, previous car is a Subaru BRZ. The VWVortex R forum is actually pretty civil, I learned about most of the mods from there.

Transverse Coyote time.

Ah I see. Do you know if you can go back to stock and avoid the dreaded TD1 flag with the APR tune?

That I do not know, I’ve never heard of TD1 flag either lol.

TD1 is how the dealer can tell the that the car has been modified even after returning to the stock tune. It’s not a new process or anything, but I have yet to see any tuners confirm that their product gets around that notification. Since I’m so concerned about it, I probably should not tune my car haha.

I’m glad to hear that. I haven’t driven one yet but the want is very strong.

I’ve got a GTI (which I LOVE). But with the 2.0T, having a little more weight over the front wheels is really nice. Yeah.. the CC’s are totally dope. And not only quick but (imho) really gorgeous cars..... do it!

The VAG alternative to LS-swap? Or is that still the 1.8T, since i’ve seen that in a Lupo?
