This clock is so silly. I hated it at first but now I love it. Classic Stockholm syndrome.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:17 |

My steering wheel is pretty tacky, old leather gets like that so I put a cover on it so it wouldn’t get on my hands.

Leaves.

I got some JB weld that leaked into my toolbox that things keep getting stuck to and I haven’t bothered cleaning up.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:19 |

Wait... if we’re talking real Stockholm, that clock can only be your captor if you’re somehow trapped in your car. ARE YOU TRAPPED IN YOUR INFINITI? AGAINST YOUR WILL? BLINK TWICE FOR YES
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:19 |
|
The I30 doesn’t have the analog clock :(
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:19 |

I’m pretty sure I’ve got an ugly sweater in there somewhere... I’ll see myself out.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:20 |

for now, the tackiest things are the blinking check engine light, and the front passenger door won’t open (probably the lock actuator)

Me

*Clockhol Syndrome
There is nothing tacky in my car. Just serious, pragmatic germanity all around.

Wow that’s amazing, I lol’d. Is is this OEM?! A French car?

The shiny Quattro badge on the wood trim above the glovebox. It sux on 2 levels.
1) Ok I get it, it has Quattro “technically”. Ain’t no racecar DNA in the car from what I could tell lol.
2) In the early afternoon, the sun hits is just right for it to reflect right into my eyeballs!
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:24 |

In my old 9-3 it was the night mode button.
In my mom’s highlander hybrid, it’s the stupid diagram that shows which engine is working at which point.
And in my dad’s mini it has to be the centrally mounted speedo.
No complaints in my golf or old volvo.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:25 |

I see nothing wrong there. Wheels are a bit small and it’s too low. But that’s it.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:25 |

Too low? Its stock ride height!
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:26 |

like I said, too low
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:26 |

I have a small American flag in each bottom corner of my windshield in my 2500hd. Like one of the ones you wave at parades, not a sticker
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:27 |

In my car? The driver.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:27 |
|
Yep. Generally speaking the tackiest item in my car is the driver.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:28 |
|
I think your English might be off. You keep saying “too low” but I know what you mean to say is “not low enough”
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:28 |
|
That’s pretty damn tacky
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:28 |

My car’s undercoating is kinda tacky. But I’ve got plenty of Fast Orange and it works pretty good...
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:30 |

I can’t stand chrome inside the cabin for that reason. The 2011 Mustang I owned had big chrome rings around the speedo and tach, as well as the climate control vents. My CTS does too...it reflects sun right into my eyes. No bueno.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:31 |

Since were really talking about tacky things that we love, I find Landau tops hilarious!
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:32 |

I see nothing tacky in mine, so I'll go with the popular answer of driver.

Bro it’s a racecar bro
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:36 |

Clock for me, too. In my case, my Toyobaru’s LED digital clock looks like it came straight out of a 1980s Camry.

greatest thing I’ve ever seen in my life
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:38 |

Exactly! Why would they do that to gauges of all things. I can never open the sunroof ever because the sun will reflect this:
right into my face worse than the little quattro trim. Dumbest idea ever!

![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:42 |

AND your steering wheel is on the wrong side! You should probably get that checked out. For real though that actually looks comfy, and you keep it clean!
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:42 |
|
my fusion hybrid has a MPG indicator. when it’s solid green, it’s on electric. when it’s red, you’re flooring it and then it fades to white when you’re easy on the gas engine.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:43 |

JDM, bro...
And I wish I kept it that clean - the photos are from when I bought it.

Is that legal?
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:54 |

Subaru should go back to the velour. It’d be better than that soul sucking black fabric they put in everything these days
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:54 |

Completely OEM, and yes, it is a French car.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:56 |

The tape player. My 11 year old Lexus has a tape player in it. A tape player. A cassette tape player.

Fake wood strip above my glovebox in the Disco
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:00 |

I knew it! I hope French cars return to the US market at some point, their design studios understand the value of fun. I need an ultramodern Citroen barge in my life.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:01 |

I love my tape player! I’d perish without my tape deck MP3 adaptor.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:01 |

The pun is always intended. Always.

It used to be this
Until I finally couldn’t stand it anymore and fixed it.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:16 |

There is nothing wrong with that. Makes it easy to use the tape adapter to play music on your modern device.
Also, I hate that the CD changer is in the trunk, and that you have to put them in upside down.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:16 |
|
The mesh sunroof shade
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:24 |
|
Well yeah that’s what I use as well. But it is in a Lexus, from 2004...Did they even still sell cassette tapes in 2004!?!??!?!
I can’t wait to get rid of it for something with a proper aux jack.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:25 |
|
The Oppo sticker isn’t tacky, but the shadow it casts...
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:26 |
|
The CD changer on mine is in-dash. But it doesn’t work. We have one like it in our Sienna. You just load them one at a time, then you can pick which disk to listen to.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:29 |
|
Too bad the wood is fake. And the I30 has even more of it :(
Every Lexus has real wood.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:36 |
|
Well most of the interior of my car is pretty low rent. I’d say that the buttons are spelled out instead of icons is pretty tacky.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:39 |
|
oh yeah, 11 years as in 2004. At first I had thought 1994! :o
Because I had a 96 ES300 with the trunk CD changer. The I30 I have now has an in-dash CD player, but only one disc.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:41 |

That’s actually a Toyota, but I agree anyway. The back seat really is very comfy indeed. The whole car’s a bit like driving a sofa.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:41 |
|
My BMW chirps (loudly) 2x when i unlock it and once when i lock it. Toyotas do it too (at a third of the volume), but because it’s a BMW it’s instantly tacky.
“Hey look, that douche wants us to know he has a BMW by making it chirp!” Bro, if i could change it, i would in a heartbeat
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:42 |

The 80’s video game digital dash. It’s wonderful.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:44 |

I swear to god that’s going to be written on your gravestone.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:45 |

Silly me! ***Toyota
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:47 |

Hahah good point - I bet Lexus buyers in 2004 still had all of their tapes though!
![]() 10/13/2015 at 13:56 |

prolly my seats which looks like they came out of a 90’s civic:
![]() 10/13/2015 at 14:06 |
|
Yeah, I do the same thing with the years. Getting old will do that to you.
My dad had a 96 ES300, and it had a changer in the trunk. I hated that thing.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 14:13 |
|
And it'll STILL be correct
![]() 10/13/2015 at 14:20 |
|
And an A6 wagon is still an Avant.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 14:40 |

It’s not so much tackiness... but the acres of cheap beige plastic:
Yes... this is exactly what the interior of my car looks like, except my car has beige “leather” and instead of the factory double DIN stereo, the previous owner installed a cheapo Clarion single DIN head unit.
You can’t really tell from the picture, but the dashboard plastic that is on top and extends over to the passenger side is the cheap/hard textured brand of plastic. It’s a definite downgrade from what was sold prior to 2005... not to mention what was sold in Europe.
And about the “leather” seats. They might be leather, but it isn’t a soft/luxurious feeling leather. It’s more like the cheapest kind of cowhide leather they could get their hands on that feels like a softer/flexible plastic.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 14:41 |

Probably the hood decal
![]() 10/13/2015 at 14:58 |

They had to have the adjuster go right through the damn thing!?
![]() 10/13/2015 at 15:06 |

Can’t believe I missed the chance to say ‘pretty sure that’s a lambo, dude’.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 15:12 |
|
And it's HUGE
![]() 10/13/2015 at 15:14 |
|
I’d say the fake carbon fiber trim. I thought it looked nice at first, but then I realized it’s the fakest CF ever created. Also doesn’t help that it made of rock solid plastic and has tons of panel gaps.
(Not my picture)
It’s the stuff around the start/stop button. Trust me, it looks 10x worse in person than the picture and it doesn’t even look good in the picture.
![]() 10/13/2015 at 21:06 |
|
In my daily, probably the color changing ambient lighting in the interior. In my other car, it would probably be the overly fancy script used for “Electronic Climate Control” and “Electronic Sound”.
![]() 10/14/2015 at 06:52 |

‘srs’ light which has burned bright for 21 months now.
![]() 11/06/2015 at 12:29 |

Lexus didn’t ditch its cassette player until 2009, if I recall.
![]() 11/06/2015 at 13:26 |

No that amazing. Reminds me of my sister’s first car an 87 Volvo 740, with blue Velour everything. The headrests were like marshmallows.

I had this shift knob for a while. I got the 6 inch tall version too. It made my shift trow ridiculously long.
