11 hours left, please asks away. My view for the rest of the day.

Why do you have to babysit it? You worried its going to run off and become pregnant?

Umm how about...what the hell is an AFVR?

Aggressive Fluid and Vapor Recovery. It’s basically a huge vacuum that sucks out petroleum from well water and the soil around it.

Do they have a tendency to run away?
Are they worth a batshit crazy amount of money?
Do they go boom if left unattended?
(you asked for questions haha)

So someone doesn’t run off with six figures worth of equipment. And I have to take measurement every once in a while, just to be sure it is working.

I guess that makes sense. I just usually find its hard to move equipment like that even trailered. We usually leave chiller trailers just sitting hooked up. Can you siphon of the petrol for your car?

1. Not really.
2. Yes.
3. They can if left unattended while something goes wrong.

AFVR?
![]() 10/13/2015 at 11:45 |

Nope, it’s full of water.

How is the AFVR powered?

A John Deere 4 cylinder turbo diesel genset.

I’m guessing F250?

I wish, then I might have leg room.

What do you do to pass the time?
![]() 10/13/2015 at 12:16 |

Well I had planned to watch movies on my laptop, but it doesn't want to play, so I guess I'll read.

You’re obviously at a well site but it appears to be quite urban judging by the view in your rear view. Where are you?

Hollywood, SC. It’s a little spot outside of Charleston. It’s nice, and there are a lot of Gullah people, so it kind of brings me back to my childhood watching "Gullah, Gullah Island", or whatever it was called.

Also, it’s kind of in a small area, so someone could probably slip off with it without much drama.

Yeah you never want to be that guy who has to explain how he lost a +100k trailer and equipment because he went home.

Luckily home is 2 hours away, so the temptation won’t be that strong until I have 2-3 hours left.

Do you have to sit in the truck the whole time?
![]() 10/13/2015 at 14:22 |
|
I can walk around, go get lunch/supper etc., but for very short amounts of time. I don’t actually have to be in the truck, since I have to be outside to do measurements. Speaking of which, it’s about that time.

I’m assuming taking measurements is:
Fuel: Good
Crap pulled out: Some
Crap tank: Still not full
Good enough..
![]() 10/13/2015 at 14:38 |

Not quite. How dirty is the vapor coming in, how dirty is it coming out, how fast is it coming out etc. That reminds me though, I need to check the genset's fuel.

I’ll consider 1 out 4 close enough.
