Kinja'd!!!

I’m at a wedding or quinceñera or idk I haven’t checked. Point is I had to do something I loath, dressing nice.

Mainly, wearing a belt! ¿Porque? Because while standing up, all is good. Once I sit down, all the lard that is my belly folds over the buckle and bothers me sooooo much.

Solution, loose weight, exercise, do something for my heath for once damn it invent a type of basketball shorts/dress pants hybrid.

So OPPO, do you like dressing up nice, shopping, going to nice events?

No. I don't even like polo shirts.

T-shirt and jeans is for work and play. But a belt is a must, 29” waist pants still sag if I don't have one.

Like wearing a suit. Love shopping but loathe browsing; when I shop, I’m a man on a mission. Fancy events are cool as long as my squad (read: family) is with me.

You should try out suspenders. They work better for bigger dudes, and no one can even tell if you are wearing your jacket.

I like dressing nice and always make an effort. There is nothing like a good pair of Oxford shoes, a nice pair of trousers and a good watch (other clothing too of course.

Though I do generally try to look smart wearing my Magnum Stealth 8.0 zip boots, 5.11 covert trousers, 5.11 black belt and work shirt. If done correctly look smart and doesn’t draw attention and simply blend in with everyone.

Shopping I do on the Internet and cloths I usually source from police and military outlets for durability (no not camo stuff).

I don’t like big events as I generally feel awkward around people and rather not be there so you’ll usually find me outside with some nice cigars and very large Irish Whiskey.

I do like dressing nice, but only if I have to. Otherwise I mainly wear t-shirts and streetwear shoes.

Shopping is something I rarely do but enjoy doing only by myself. And nice events are okay, as long as they are once every few months.

I know how you feel. I’ve been spending a lot of time in front of the computer whilst at the library and that gut pressing into the belt buckle is driving me crazy. It’s not so bad if I just tuck in my shirt, but when wearing a loose Hawaiian shirt that really isn’t an option. Perhaps if I had pants that were a little tighter it wouldn’t be a problem since I could just forego the belt.

As I get older, those tacky polyester Sansabelt slacks my grandpa wore make a whole lotta sense...

Well, as I put on the pounds I found a thrift store where I can get decent stuff on Sundays for $0.50/item, and that’s less trouble than actually losing the weight. If I do drop some pounds, and unemployment may just do that for me, I’ll have some smaller clothes to fit into...

Sorry. I thought many in the U.S. would know 5.11 Tactical as it’s a U.S. brand but then as I type this that’s like saying because I’m British I must know The Queen. My apologise.

The 5.11 Tactical Covert Trousers are a double stitched hard wearing regular looking trouser with two hidden pockets (one in each trouser leg) like combat trousers but very discreet and a hidden expandable area in the waist to allow better ease of motion. (Though I wear black).

Kinja'd!!!

These Magnum Stealth 8.0 side zip boots are my regular footwear.

(I’ve worn Magnum boots for near 20 years and great for long periods on your feet as reduce foot fatigue greatly).

If your pants (or even jeans) stay up without a belt (mostly), they are not the correct size. Tight jeans don’t look good on anyone.

Well fitted jeans (no holes) on the other hand, those are great. Pair with a bright white, good quality tee, and you have a solid base for layering for dress up. Swap the jeans for trousers and you are set for most events that don’t require a suit or formal dress, as a sport coat can layer with trousers.

I must be crazy. I love dressing nicely. Half the time I wear a nice ling sleeve button down tucked into a good pair of jeans or khakis to school. I hardly ever wear shorts.

Shopping is both fun and really frustrating. It all depends on how the first store goes, if I can’t find anything I like its usually downhill for me. Same if I try a few things on and nothing fits right.

I hate dressing up. One of the things I love about the school district I work in, is I get to wear jeans every single day. I would’ve been fired for that at my last district.

That said, belts are a must for me. Even though I’m fat, I have no hips. I can’t leave the house without a belton, or whatever pants/shorts I’m wearing fall off nearly instantly.

I wear a belt with an old school style buckle (read:not huge dinner plate size but not always the smallest depending on which one it is) just about every single day. As far as fancy goes, that’s a rare occasion but I do have clothes geared more towards that. Usually dressing nice for me means I put on nice jeans and a polo shirt, as opposed to my usual seen-better-days jeans and a t-shirt. And you can pretty much count on me always wearing cowboy boots if I’m wearing jeans (I have a fancy black pair I save for formal occasions, but I have a pair or two that get worn on a daily basis)
