Gotta love having a little Daddy-Daughter time.

Freshly painted rear with a new differential. Gotta install brake endplates and axles today!

I can’t wait until my boy gets older and I can utilize child labor.

Lifelong memories here. I still remember being around my grandpa and dad doing similar things at that age.

Car parts and Hello Kitty shirts? Father of the year material right there. :)

I was the same way when I was a little girl — always curious about what my dad was doing. And he, like you, always encouraged that curiosity as he worked out in the garage or did other Mr. Fix-it tasks.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is thanks for being awesome. And also, your daughter is adorable.

I’m told their small hands in particular are very useful when working in cramped engine bays.

Mine hasn’t quite grasped the idea of “hands” yet (11 weeks) but you can bet I’ll put him to work when he gets older.

Yeah, I try to promote her curiosity and give her an opportunity to experience new things as much as possible. Always get to try something new, and when I see a chance to teach her something in the process is always a bonus.

I had been pursuing a degree in engineering but just couldn’t handle it. Doesn’t mean my mind isn’t still centered around that aspect, so a lot of my lessons are STEM based, something that I saw as lacking in my school as a kid.

Here I am giving her a good first hand lesson on static!

Yeah, had it a few years, will really put it to good use with the new differential, an Auburn Auto-x/road race setup:

Haha! That’s awesome. She’s a lucky little girl.

You should see if there are any kid-centric museums around your area. I know around here there’s one that has a lot of cool things to engage kids’ imaginations with hands on activities. The one where I live has this cool wall piece where it looks like a giant mosaic of carved and painted wooden pieces, but when you touch them they play a unique sound from nearby speakers. It’s a cool little museum. I bet there’s something similar where you guys live and they usually offer free days. :)

Awesome!

A lot of people have asked if I’m disappointed that I didn’t have boys, so I could teach them how to fix things and work on cars. Nope, I can do that with my girls, thank you very much.

Yeah, I’m of the type that sees this as an opportunity to give her a chance because there are others that will continually try to tell her, “A girl doesn’t do that.”

Screw that noise. Times are changing and I want to make sure she has the experiences and knowledge to be ahead of the curve when the time comes.

She was dressed up as a princess and watching Peppa Pig about 30 minutes after I took this picture anyway. She’s a well rounded individual.

Now, learning to drive a 6-speed in heels is going to be all on her.

Yeah, we go to a local “Science Spectrum” that is very interactive. We buy the yearly membership because my wife will take her so often that it paid for itself within the first two months.

She loves the people there and is always learning, can’t believe she’s only three...

Yeah even took her to the local Auto-x since my car is down. She had ZERO interest in the cars sitting in the paddock area and only wanted to see the ones racing at that moment. Good girl, she’s gonna keep me busy...
