So for today I’m driving my grandmother’s ‘04 Regal LS. She’s the original owner and it only has about 35k miles on it, since she only really uses it when she and my grandfather are going separate places, which is not often. The 3800 certainly feels like it’s making more than 200hp. But the interior. The horror. It’s entirely grey plastic with one or two bits of black plastic thrown in for some zest and style. Still, beggars can’t be choosers, and it’s not a bad car.

I fucking love these cars. Even the interior. Plenty of power (especially in the GS), insane reliability, comfortable, cheap, good looks (in my opinion)........ What’s not to love?

Typical interior for the age. Dull and bland was the look for all makes. That few of miles and age is not necessarily a good thing. Be aware that issues may be a bit more likely.

Bears can too be choosers!

The beggars, however, we aren’t too sure about.

All-grey interiors are the worst. I don’t car what brand, what price point, what its made out of, grey cannot look good IMO. GM’s early 2000s designs really take it to a whole different level though. Though the same interior in tan doesn't look terrible.

These low mileage cars always amuse me.
I was going down to UofI last year and the driver had something like an 2002 Taurus that just clicked over to 50,000.

Oh man, too bad it wasn’t a GS :p

It has had no problems since they’ve owned it. Dead reliable, basically just oil changes. It gets driven regularly, just not far. But it doesn’t just sit.

Good.

There’s a dealer near me with a near-new Continental GT that has an all-grey interior. It looks no better than this; absolutely awful.

This is quite literally a 1 little old lady owner.

I know. My grandpa’s old Park Ave ultra had that engine.

I always liked the Regal.
Looks like a comfortable way to go down the highway.
Didn’t they make some high performance version once?

Of course it has low miles — no one wants to drive it

I like the all-red interiors they used to do!

Comparison Test! A8 vs. Regal!

I dunno, I have no problem with it. It’s comfortable and everything is laid out well. I could care less out the materials. I’ve been in much worse interiors than 2000’s GM products.

For this body style, there was the GS. Supercharged, 240hp.

W-body’s are pretty decent, cheap daily drivers.
Over 30mpg highway with enough power so it’s not scary slow.
Still want a Black Regal GS for some reason.

I’ve been in much worse interiors than 2000’s GM products.
That’s possible?
Oh wait, mid/late 00’s Chysler/Jeep/Dodge vehicles are a thing.

Basically all Chrysler products of that era, as well as late 90’s and early 00’s Ford interiors are worse.
