This was under my dad’s b5.5 tdi wagon. It’s in the shop now with a “hole” from what he tells me. Also I was correct the past few years and the noise coming from the car was his alternator clutch, so that’s finally going to be replaced. Yay!

They have a clutch in the alternator? Way to overcomplicate things germans! The ‘muricans do it by turning off the voltage regulator.

In my A6, there’s about three clutches. Including the clutch pedal.
