And managed to snap a photo. Recognized it from the dumb stickers i added to it in its later years.
Details about the car:
Bought in 1994 brand new from Riddle Honda in Hampton Roads. 4 speed slushbox automatic to the 2.2L SOHC VTEC engine (only on the EX models). Ran like a top and got me through high school, college, graduate school, and was my daily for my first job (aside from my bicycle). 288,000 miles last i saw it.
I sold it last year after a number of mishaps including losing a wheel at speed stemming from a botched tire rotation at the mechanic shop (took me over a month and half to get it back from the shop). Shortly thereafter receiving the car back, i was involved in a fender bender where i rear ended a suburban and it’s hitch mount punched through my hood and bent the radiator supports.
Basically sold it at junk price on craigslist to a guy who was going to fix it up for his girlfriend. I knew he had fixed it as another friend had spotted it around town driving shortly after that. This is the first time since then that i’ve seen it after looking at every fifth generation forest green (can’t tell in the light of this photo) honda accord that i pass on the street.
What about OPPO? Do you still see your old rides about town, or look for them still?

I wish. I forgot to write down the VIN, so I have no other way of knowing where she is now... I loved that car like a child.

I saw my white jeep tj i sold last summer.
didn’t change at all. other than that I don’t see my old cars anymore, since last one i crashed it, and the one before i sold to my neighbor and he crashed it. before that they where all 90s cars they basically all rusted back to earth, (Salt-belt)

This one has been in some collision or other since i sold it. After the wheel fell off, it got a partial respray down the full drivers side (drivers side looked very fresh, other side looked like a 20 year old car). Now there’s a big scratch from wheel well to wheel well.

Our roomate used to have a red/white ‘89 240SX that we used to see all the time after we sold it, I have seen my mother’s former 2012 Kia Soul a couple of times, and our roomate also saw the red 2001 Pontiac Grand Am he owned from 2005-2011 a few weeks ago.
It’s always sentimental seeing the cars we used to own.

Just curious, how does one fuck up a tire rotation?!
As for me, I only ever sold one car, and never saw it again.

I see my old Protégé 5 every time I pass the dealer I bought the next car. One of the service guys bought it off me. Was planning on trading it in but they wouldn’t come off the low ball price due to it being a lowered manual with bolt-ons (somewhat expected). Told them I’d just sell it privately. Left it on the lot and drove the new car home to pick up my wife so we could shuttle it back and when we returned one of the techs ran out and flagged us down and offered me over what I thought I’d get for it.
It now has dipped wheels, LED lights, and stickers. Still truckin'.

A couple years ago, I was working on my brother’s car, which needed some “dealer-only” parts, so we started checking salvage yards. The first one we went to had a limited selection, but while browsing around, we suddenly saw his (totaled) previous car, a 1997 Monte Lumina Carlo. There was no mistaking the duct tape that held the trunk closed.
He was stunned for a moment, then walked over and hugged it.

i had a ‘94 dodge shadow POS in high school. it was green, and super slow. i worked at a vinyl shop, so i made some go-fast stripes for it. but then, being a kid, i rear ended someone and wrecked the front end. i went to a junkyard and pulled parts for it. when i ended up, i had a car that was mostly a forrest green with white stripes, yellow hood, powder blue fender, and red grille.
so i did what anyone would do in my situation, i cut out a vinyl graphic that said “CLOWN CAR” and put it across the top of the windshield and rocked the hell out of it for a couple more years. I ended up enlisting and my parents sold the car for a shocking $500. i saw it a couple more times, then it disappeared. no big loss to me.
