$161.25 for the year!
$0 deductible, agreed-value coverage with good liability limits, and they even cover things like lockouts and replacement keys (they replaced a $69 set of keys last year).
I mean, I can’t use the car to commute or run errands, but that’s fine with me. It’s only on the road about 7.5 months out of the year, so just over $20 a month is no problem from my point of view. Gotta love classic/collector insurance.

It’s great, isn’t it? When I had my ‘74 Buick, insurance was $120/year.

Nice! Mine was twice that with normal insurance but all I used it for was commuting and running errands haha

Unfortunately, I’m stuck with regular insurance for my Mini, since it isn’t garaged.
Not a lot of coverage. :(
Collector insurance is great, though. I have another (garaged) car with agreed value insurance and it’s dirt cheap.

My BMW full coverage and my Montero liability together are less than my POS Corolla cost per month to insure

Oh man, I couldn’t imagine not keeping mine in the garage. I even ask people to park in their garage when I visit overnight. I need a bigger garage though... parking my daily driver outside is less fun.
Anyway.... post pictures!

True story: I lived in Miami and drove a car that was titled in my parents’ name. My old insurance company didn’t insure in the state of Florida, so I had to hunt out a new company. I found a company who would insure at my parents’ address (midwestern suburbs) and I would be “borrowing” the vehicle. The quote was about $100/mo.
I got an identical quote from the same company for the same coverage levels on the same car, with the only difference being that I owned the vehicle and it was insured in Miami. $1100
per month
. They confirmed that that was not a mistake. Most other companies were $250-$350/month.

Damn that’s good! I pay about $400 a year but that’s for 12 months of a youth driving an 05 WRX every day

I pay a lot more than that for my Subaru and motorcycle. Actually, the motorcycle is about the same, now that I think about it.

I’m just really lucky as I got in with the same insurance company that my dad had had for 50 years and he never had a claim and I haven’t broken his record yet. We do also have a deductible

The garaged car has a canvas top, so it wins the “driveway or garage” fight.
The Mini gets a cover and sometimes gets put under the deck in the wintertime.

That’s still not too bad - I wish I could keep mine under the deck. :(
As a side note - what roof rack is that? I have the Paddy Hopkirk one and although it’s quite solid, it sits incredibly close to the roof (maybe 1/2” or so). I feel like if I put any weight onto it, it’ll flex and touch the roof. Yours has considerably more clearance.

That’s the Yakima A1 gutter rack for my Vanagon, with the HiRise Spacer kit (to get over the clearance of the arched van roof.)
However, the 3.5” spacers were too tall for my application, so I chopped them down to 1.75”

Agreed! €15 a month:
It is on classic car insurance, but there’s no request to garage it (which I do anyway) and I can drive it year round.

LOL that is what I pay for like 2 months. Yeah collector insurance sounds like the life! But I don’t think I would ever be able to stay under the mileage limits, even if I had a bunch of other cars.

I can drive it year round, but British car + salt and snow = lots of rust. I’d love to drive it in winter but... Not a great plan.

That’s true. When it comes to rust protection my 205 GTI is luckily similar to a modern car; it’s not infallible, but it’s rather well protected. Not that I’d drive it on salted roads though.
Had I had a car designed in the 1970s or before I’d only drive it when it’s warm/dry outside.
