... Whait is good about that???
So much work went into this! But why?? Suspension travel is non existant, the whole thing is probably going to collapse at the first pothole and the exhaust comes straight from my Whirlpool dryer’s vent flex pipe...
What do you like about this??? What is sooooo cool about this???
And yes I’m drunk and when I’m drunk I ask questions with no answers.

Some people believe in function over form, while others think function should only exist in the smallest quantity possible. These people should be disemboweled with a wooden cooking spoon but I digress..

Doesn’t this decrease your contact patch too? ie, less grip?

Where are you that you’re drunk at 10am?

Of course!

On the other side of where you are :)
It’s 11pm here.. I’m in Japan (and I live in the future!!! How cool is that huh??)

fair enough, drink on

I’ve seen much worse stance cars, at least the camber is reasonable on this one. That said it looks terrible, especially the exhaust.

In a sense, not using your damn treads.

just a style man, they like it and as long as there are automotive cultures, i’m all for it

Pictures like that make me hate these people on a level I previously reserved for furries. How can anyone look at that and admire it?
![]() 10/07/2015 at 10:33 |

They like it, but... I like to drive... Ain’t it the first reason why we are all here?? I mean, I’d rather own a car that looks like a Corrola and drives fantastically, than a car that looks like a Lambo and drives like shit... no?
![]() 10/07/2015 at 10:34 |

This. It’s not like any manufacturer is going to look at the stance scene and be like “Oh hold on here, we need to get into this!”
![]() 10/07/2015 at 10:34 |
|
Come on, bro.
But in all seriousness I think they just do it to impress each other. That’s fine, but ever seen one of these try to maneuver on the streets? Downright dangerous/hilarious.

Well, this is Japan... So everything is a bit different here :)

the good: it’s an FC with the mini mirrors, and neat taillights.
the bad: the rest of it.

Oh, it’s an FC?? haha, I had no idea what it was and I own a SA22C myself :)

They are not out to carve canyons or go to track days. There is nothing wrong about just going out cruising and meeting up with your friends and talking cars. Same thing with the California lowriders of the 60’ and 70’s way back in the day. Stance is a unique style from Japan and there are a lot of fans. Yes there are fail moments but i’m positive there are just as much wanna be boy racer in a BMW fails. But s0 what. Drive free or Die.
![]() 10/07/2015 at 10:42 |

Just like the original cholos in SoCal back in the 60’s and 70’s in their Lowriders. Just cruising and gathering talking about the cars they like. Heck, just like the SLABs here in Houston. They are not out to win spec series track days or carve corners. Just a group of car fans hanging out with people that are into the same style

But it looks soooooooo dooooooopppppeeeeeeeeeee.
![]() 10/07/2015 at 10:49 |

Well minor camber is good for turns because the outside wheel will level out (I think), you can see it on F1 cars, but it’s only minimal.
![]() 10/07/2015 at 11:09 |

For the same reason that other guys do this:
Its pointless, tasteless, dangerous, and a waste of money.
But it pushes the limits of engineering, it puts outdated and unfair traffic laws to task by seeking loopholes, and it makes people question their own perceptions of aesthetic quality.
Also, you know there are people who will look and ask “Why???” and its just fun to piss those guys off.
![]() 10/07/2015 at 11:13 |

Easy. From an engineering perspective, i’m absolutely fascinated at how they can make this work. From an practical perspective, I’m jealous of the disposable income they must have, because they have so much money for tires and traffic tickets.
![]() 10/07/2015 at 11:15 |

....Does it even turn? if so it looks like it would take a football field to turn around.
![]() 10/07/2015 at 12:15 |

They should switch to motorcycle tires.
![]() 10/07/2015 at 12:42 |
|
They should just make the wheels totally horizontal and then install little wheels inside the wheels. And for propulsion and braking, having the biggest electric motor you can fit within the space on the back part of a wheel... while maintaining 1/4 of an inch of ground clearance.

Can you imagine furries who are also into stance?

What about when they are going super slow (like 10 mph on a 30 MPH street) or abruptly braking because their car can’t handle the variations (read shitty asphalt) of an average NYC street and you are stuck behind them? Are we allowed to be annoyed then? Because that’s what happens to me.
![]() 10/07/2015 at 12:58 |

I’m sure they’re out there, but my I don’t need that kind of insanity in my life right now.
![]() 10/07/2015 at 12:59 |

Some stance looks good, some stance looks bad. Some built cars look good, some look bad.

and me behind supercars, lowered truck (most common), and SLAB/DONK cars on these shitty roads. The stance people seem to be very aware of where the bad raods are and tend to avoid them. At least I did when I used to build them for those kids back in the day and had to test drive some. Not fun but once I got good route figured out, it wasn’t too bad. good thing for air Suspension
![]() 10/07/2015 at 14:05 |
|
Believe me I wouldn’t complain if I was behind a supercar lol
![]() 10/07/2015 at 14:06 |

Deadass, they drive super slow or abruptly brake because of uneven ground which is pretty much every road here in NYC.
![]() 10/07/2015 at 14:07 |

well.... yeah. I’ve learn to adapt to all those type of modified cars whether they be stance, lowriders, naturally low cars, or lowered trucks
![]() 10/07/2015 at 15:06 |

Weirdly the camber is the most okay part of this.
![]() 10/08/2015 at 05:16 |

needs more stance.

Diesel stack’d RX. Because you wanted a brodozer and your parents said hell naw.

“How much is too much stance?”
“’Too much’ is when the axles scrape the ground.”
![]() 10/10/2015 at 14:05 |

I’m going to purchase high-end performance tries with excellent grip then off-set the camber so that they grip less. Because reasons.

I mean, is it really that bad to be drunk at 10:00am? When I was on vacation in Colombia, my wife and bestfriend razzed me when I DIDN’T have a beer open at 10:00am. Because vacation.

Really disappointed none of the brodozers had a massive pair of truck nutz on them.

What I dont understand is why people
don’t get it
.
This is not my cup of tea either, but I can see and understand what people like about it, even if I do not share those feelings. They like a car to be as low as possible, to have camber and to scrape. They like how a stiff suspension feels, they like when a wheel is up in the air when the car is on a curb, they think it is cool and they enjoy sharing it with their friends. All of these elements combined create a culture, which then in turn creates its own rules about the preferred aesthetic, branding and status. I can understand why someone would love a fucking brodozer and rolling coal, a useless stanced car, a kitschy shiny hot rod or a ratty, slow and unreliable old vw baja bug. It really isn’t that difficult.
The fact that so many of you guys don’t seem to understand that people like different things makes me wonder about your social intelligence.
