Within the last few days I had my PC’s PSU and main HDD fail; also, my watch started stopping randomly for no obvious reason (and it’s not a battery issue). Today I got a new PSU for the PC, I installed it and turned the PC on to find that my mouse (R.A.T. 9) has died. That made me go to a nearby electronics store to get a Logitech G700s. I approached the cashier and all the registers locked up in that exact moment. They had to restart the whole system which took about 10 minutes.
Fuck me.

I’ve been through two 9’s. I love how cool they are with their metal frame and how premium they feel, but switching to a G700s should work out well for me. It’s like going from a Ferrari to a Porsche. You lose coolness but gain every day useability.

When the PSU goes it usually takes a few things with it. Chalk the mouse up to that and start considering that you may have become a living, walking electromagnetic field.

The mouse was wireless so it’d be quite hard for the PSU to break it. I think I’m just cursed.

Yeah, that was great. I miss that in my G700s. Also, the scroll wheel on this is utter wank.

Ever heard of the Pauli Effect? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pauli_eff…
Maybe this is the Borsuq effect.

My Windows install decided to corrupt itself a few days ago. Luckily, my 200GB+ of Steam games were on my 1.5TB RAID drives. So that’s my tip of the day - put your Windows install on a seperate drive, or at least a seperate partition, from your files.

I have my Windows on a separate SSD, so that’s fine. By ‘main’ drive I meant the one I had pretty much all my files on. :(

Oh, damn. Separate back ups are also a good idea. I’m trying to talk my dad into setting up a NAS drive array for the whole family to back-up to.

For awhile there I was practically Amish, so many modern amenities broke - no clothes dryer, no dishwasher, no electric coffee pot, and no microwave. I still don’t own a computer. I can totally relate.

Wow, sucky...and expensive! I am using a Compaq RT101 keyboard from 1993 as I love the feel of it! :P I’ve dropped that thing down a flight of stairs by accident, and it’s still 100% fine, haha! Still using the very first mouse I ever bought too - Logitech MX510 Gaming Optical!
Be glad your 126 is simple enough it doesn’t have any electronics in it! :P
