I had been tossing around the idea of a new car lately, especially after moving with my new longer LA city commute killing my left leg...so here it is...
I went from this 2004 Dodge SRT-4...
to this 2015 Fiat 500E with a single speed and soooooo easy to drive...
So far, loving the car...and it’s SOOOOO CHEAP TO OWN/OPERATE!!!
Update for fun, a side by side (a bad quality, grainy one)

As Sonicvato drives the 500E with gusto, Sergio is quietly crying in the corner.

I like these. Is fiat still doing the “you get a gas powered loner for x days if you want one to go on a trip or something”

I love the color! Black and red are my favorites.

I am leasing it. It’s go the eSport package which is like an extra $500 on the car for the orange accents and black out wheels and lights, which nicer vinyl inside. $2500 down plus drive offs put me just over $3k out of pocket, with a $2500 CA state rebate, and only $129/month for 3 years/30K miles...

They’re both easy to drive! But good luck with it.

Even better!

So is the $3000 out of pocket after the $2500 rebate? Or is the rebate calculated into the lease payments? Or is the state of California going to be sending you a $2500 cheque?
Either way, $129 month, no gas costs, and I’d imagine insurance would be very low - seems like a decent deal.

I’m working cheap from the other direction. But, instead of a lease payment, I have a gas payment.
Paid about $2300 for the car including TTR. I get 15-20 mpg in town, but I only do about 20 miles per day for work. Even at $3.00 a gallon and 15 mpg, that’s $84/month for commuting. (Gas is less than $2.25/gallon right now!)
Unfortunately for me, my car is not nearly as fun as yours though.

Mileage will kill you on that lease, considering you live in LA now... 10k in a year is nothing for an average person in the greater metro area. The only people pulling off that or less live really close to work and probably live on the west side.

Nope, it $3K ish down, minus $2500 back from state, so like $500 out of my pocket after i got the check. Charging from zero to full costs me a bit less than $4 for about 100 miles, and actually, the wife now has a FREE charging station at her work, so even LESS. I LOVE FREE!!!

Eric, I did some serial math about mileage. Both the wife and i each work about 16 miles 1 way, or 32 ish round trip. Using this car 5 days/week, that keeps us under the 10K mile limit. She has a regular gas car and we trade for longer drives...

Yeah, but the Fiat is so easy, comfy and cheap. Plus it’s nice not driving hilly streets for my hour daily commute in a stick with a stiff clutch!

On month 18 of a similar leasing deal in Fresno. White w/eSport. LOVE IT!!! The 500e is severely underrated. It’s quick and thanks to 50/50 balancing handles great! Congrats on your new ride. The black and orange is a sweet combo.

Yeah, definitely quick and handles great. Easy to squirt in and around traffic in this sucker. Post pics of your white w/eSport, don’t think i have seen that combo...
