Torques.

With no evidence of a chain tied to between the axle and a power pole, I’d guess a broken drive shaft digging into the pavement.

So did they make kids climb out the rear escape window, then over the axle? Where is the dashcam footage!?!?

Error 404: Rear axle not found.
![]() 10/06/2015 at 12:06 |

Something amiss with the mounts on the suspension, driver applies brakes - the axle, locked to the wheels, simply “rolls” down, jacking the rear up a bit, finishes breaking loose, and at that point the axle and wheels are like a big fat roller under the back end. Bus keeps moving, rolls off the wheels, BANG.

Or a driver. The right outer dual is flat; they may have hit something and it tore the axle off.

True. Although that’s pretty hard to do, I do see those mega-killer curbs right there where it happened.

Hella flush once you get it off that curb! Convert it to front wheel drive and drag sparks all the way to the school.
