Haha. You looked like a joke before absolutely unjustified and aggressive road rage—cursing me out next to me while going down the road. A car turning left, I get in the right lane first, then you afterwards (albeit slightly, but several carlengths back), and it’s me who is being tailgated, then threatened verbally, then brake checked. Then you continued at 50+ down a very congested 35mph road with dozens of turnoffs and lights per mile swerving in and out of traffic and almost knocking a guy off of his moped and rear-ending a few cars. But it’s fine, because we somehow ended up at the same place at a red light, and you visibly jumped out of your seat when I revved my engine in your blind spot. Then you went back to almost crashing into everybody trying to get home from work... even though the traffic was barely moving, you still managed to leave quite a bit of tire on the road. But it’s great, because maybe you needed to take a piss badly... which I would’ve greatly assisted with had that been the case.
As for the person who I was behind going 9 mph (yes, 9, although thankfully a “10” appeared on the dash once) on 25mph roads for a few minutes, I was too busy figuring out how to not stall in second gear because 1st gear was whining too much. The car behind me seemed intent on taking it out on my bumper. what a city of asswipes. Sorry for the rant, I have no one to vent to and there are more stories of almost-as-Neanderthal drivers on that 15 minute drive alone. Like the person who was turning left on a yield-green across a busy street onto my road and was almost smashed into my car by opposing traffic. Or maybe the piece of shit who ran a long-since red light almost side swiping me in an S class.

I’m waiting for someone here on Oppo to rant about a bad driver they saw...
... and have it turn out to be another Opponaut.

I was thinking the same exact thing while writing this! I need to stock some popcorn for that day.

That’s Northern Virginia for ya.
Was it black with an aftermarket exhaust?

There is nothing I find more annoying than people tailgating me when I’m clearly stuck behind someone else. What good do you think that’ll do?!

Very astute, Maryland driver in Northern VA! Maryland drivers are certainly to be avoided/maneuvered around but VA drivers are only the lesser of two evils I’m afraid.

Haha it sure is. Surprisingly not another loud gargling black G. It was actually stock and white, the nice kind of cream color that just looks great on your keys!

I swear this place is the worst........
DC itself and Alexandria/Arlington are my least favorite places out of the bunch. I swear in Alexandria there’s literally a cop every block.
In DC, it’s just a free for all. Traffic cameras, meter maids who take their jobs too seriously and drunken politicians who overestimate their importance.

Words of wisdom. I can understand being frustrated at this wacko (I do generally take that ramp at 4 times that speed), but at that point I just found it a good laugh. That’s not to say your hulking LX570 isn’t about to steamroll me.

Haha too true. Alexandria here. To validate your point beyond doubt, this occurred outside the city police gas station and there is so much police radio signal that every station goes fuzzy. Too bad this didn’t somehow occur on a rural highway in South Dakota where I could overcome a 100hp disparity and make him cartoonishly outraged.

Think I know exactly where that is, off Duke right?
The problem with Alexandria is that the infrastructure of the city was never designed to hold as many people as it holds today, building more trendy condos literally everywhere isn’t going to help either.
I just wish there were more good driving roads in the DC area......

The closer they get, the more space I leave to the person ahead. Car doesn’t need to be completely crushed!
...and it makes them angrier.

It is indeed! They just keep on developing more and more, too. Things are about to get really crazy, almost the rest of the lower income housing/ remaining industrial area is in the process of being swept away in favor of more expensive high rises and apartment complexes... the idea of things 5 years from now scares me. The massive government building by the highway alone made things worse; meanwhile, the TSA is moving in 5,000 or so jobs right nearby where there is also brand new apartment community with a name like SoDoSoPa, and down the road they are turning a massive area of brick low rises constructed before people felt the need to replace green space with more people into high rises. Bowling alley down the street is also gone along with two nearby industrial areas, all to be replaced by high rises as well. It takes 30 minutes to get to Joplin Road (the one good nearby road IMO) as it is, but it will take that long to make it on to the highway soon enough! Pretty nice to have its own exit right at the beginning as it is, just get on 95 south and it’s a straight shot.

Agreed on all points!
The amount of development going on in Alexandria is crazy, it’s virtually been under construction constantly for the last ten years and it’s showing no signs whatsoever of stopping. Sure, adding extra public transportation will help but won’t help completely. I see why people are moving further away from DC now, where there’s actually open space. Five years from now, Alexandria will be bursting at the seams with new trendy condos like that SoDoSoPa one that you’re talking about, (when watching that Southpark episode I actually thought of Alexandria also, haha.)
That overpass by that government building by 95 that they’re building was built because accessing that building was a PITA and causing even more wonderful lovely traffic. Hate that places though, you can see it all the way from Braddock. Which is strange as hell.
I know that bowling alley also, haha. Right down the street from the Nissan and Benz dealers... Me and my Ex went on a date there, that place was shady as hell. We got screamed at by this Chinese lady for taking too many napkins.
Just imagine what it’ll be like once they tear down Landmark mall and build SoDaSopa V2 there. Mixed use condos and shopping, sounds like shit. Only positive outlook I see out of this whole thing is that property values will go up, which will be nice for resale I guess. Luckily, I’ll be moving right out of this area in the next two years or so.
