Today, I got in the car, turned up some classic country music (don’t hate), and drove through the countryside with no specific destination in mind. It was beyond relaxing. Random drives like that clear my mind like nothing else. I lost myself in the scenery and let my thoughts wander. It was great...been entirely too long since I’ve done that.

Went about 50 miles and dirtied up the car quite a lot, but it was worth it.

I’m prone to random drives too, but they usually happen in the middle of the night.

This is really most of the reason why I want a car: so I can drive places and think.

classic country music

Hey, man, I’m not much of a country music fan, but I like watching Hee Haw reruns. Good music, and some damn fine musicians. Enjoy your drives. They get fewer and farther between when you have kids.

I quite like blasting the Turnpike Troubadours while wasting gas, though today it rained a bit(I live in South Carolina).

Me and country music part was about 1980. Anything before then is golden. About anything after that is pop with twang.

No hate. Do Wahlen and Willy next time

They came on after Patsy, actually. I have an amazing classic country playlist on Spotify. Waylon is one of my all-time favorites. Patsy is probably one of my favorite female country stars. Her voice is so soothing.

Classic country is awesome. I can’t stand half of the county they put on the radio nowadays. My personal favorites are Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, and Jerry Reed. I totally understand the feeling of a nowhere drive with some classic country for the background.

Amen, brother. Modern “country” music isn't country at all. We have a classic country station locally on the radio and it's a godsend.

Lucky you. We don’t have a classic station around here on FM, and the only time I have Sirius is when I’m in a car that has it at the dealership where I work. Once in a blue moon will the local stations play something classic. The one stationed played Convoy the other day and I couldn’t believe it.
