Parked in the street behind his big cousin, my Passat, was this brand-new sexmobile. Yowza!

I’ve never seen it before this afternoon, so it’s either a visitor or someone in the street got some hot new wheels.

Also pictured, my messy front garden that’s getting overrun with weeds.

When will the awd version come out? I went from a ‘12 WRX hatch to a ‘13 VW R and I love the VW interior but miss the wagon look. Plus we’re moving to Colorado next month so awd FTW!

I’m very, very close to buying one. I was originally looking at a Renegade, but was less impressed than expected when I finally got to test drive one. A local dealer has a Tornado Red TSI manual. But we are about $1,000 apart on pricing. VW is offering $2,000 loyalty cash this month, I assume to keep people from running away after dieselgate. If I qualified for that on top of the price they gave me it would be in my driveway now. I’m hoping that it is still there at the end of the month when they realize how much not being able to sell TDI’s has killed their sales and I can work a deal.

I also have my eye on a CPO 2013 CC Sport 6MT, but the SportWagen would be an easier sell to my wife...

The current generation Golf is attractive, much more so than the previous 2 gens. The colours are crappy in my picture, but this light brown was very pretty and the charcoal wheels match surprisingly well.

I agree that it looks much better. The previous one didn’t do much for me. It is also a much better car - it feels much more solid and drives better. They also made more usable space inside without making it much larger on the outside. The previous SportWagen was just a little too small for me to consider as a family car, but this one has the extra inch or two that makes the difference.

If I do get the red one, I’m going to paint the wheels black I think.

Well, sad news. The dealer found someone else that did agree with the price and bought it. I ended up finding a crazy deal on a CPO Forester 6MT yesterday and bought that instead. I’m enjoying the Subaru so far, but I would have preferred the Golf.
